Rob Stuart B.A.

Rob has almost 20 years of experience working in Canada and internationally for a variety of clients including multi-stakeholder groups, aboriginal communities, government and industry. He specializes in socio-economic impact assessment, multi-stakeholder facilitation and public participation processes.  His socio-economic assessment experience ranges from regional socio-economic impact assessments, to smaller community focussed wellness studies.  He has completed dozens of socio-economic assessments for heavy oil developments, mines, power plants, power transmission lines and resort developments. Rob has facilitated dozens of public engagement programs for the electrical section, oil industry, and the provincial and federal governments.  His responsibilities have ranged from lead facilitation of multi-stakeholder advisory groups to implementation of public consultation programs with variety to stakeholders.

Internationally, Mr. Stuart has worked in Latin America with the World Bank, InterAmerican Development Bank and the Canadian International Development Agency on a variety of country specific and regional studies; in Central Asia with the United Nations Development Programme and the Global Environmental Facility on projects to develop biodiversity conservation programs by integrating the concerns of rural peoples in the design of conservation activities; in Africa with the Ghanaian Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) where he was responsible for incorporating local knowledge and indigenous peoples in the management of local resources; and in Papua New Guinea for a private sector client implementing IFC compliant stakeholder engagement and resettlement programs.
